Auli will be developed as major destination for skiing lovers; Shekhawat promises

Dehradun: The union tourism ministry will soon make a special plan for the development of Auli, a famous tourist spot in the hill district of Chamoli, in collaboration with the state government.

This was announced by union tourism minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in a post shared on the microblogging platform X. The union minister Shekhawat has shared a post of the BJP’s national spokesperson Anil Baluni, who also represents Garhwal Lok Sabha seat in the Parliament.

Garhwal MP Baluni, who recently visited Auli, said that Auli will be developed as a major destination for the Indian skiing lovers and tourists. In his post, he mentioned that skiing lovers from India travel to many countries, including Europe, every year. He mentioned that Auli will be developed as an option for Indian Skiing lovers in future.

The MP Baluni also went for skiing

Baluni, during his stay in Auli, also went for the skiing and shared his pictures. Baluni’s post on the X caught the attention of the union tourism minister Shekhawat and he announced the plan for the development of Auli. Referring to Auli as “skiing heaven” of the Garhwal region, the minister also mentioned that the first effort will be to make its (Auili’s) connectivity as good as possible.

Auli has potential to become a world-level tourist destination

During his visit to Auli area, which is also a part of his Lok Sabha constituency, the MP Baluni also held talks with players of skiing, its trainers, and traders who are associated with this business and collected their suggestions. “Their suggestions give fresh hope. I tried this adventure sport of skiing,” Baluni wrote in his post. He further said the suggestions made by people associated with skiing and the potential of Auli inspired that it can be developed as a global-level tourist destination.

Auli, which is known for skiing, its panoramic view and natural beauty, is located at a height of 2500-3050 meters above sea level. Auli is about 270 km away from Rishikesh.
