Apple’s Big Move! After iPhone 16, iPhone 17 Manufacturing Shifts To India

With the latest iPhone 16 lineup, it is the first time that the entire iPhone series, including the Pro models, has been manufactured in India. As we are stepping towards 2025, Apple is planning to make the next iPhone 17 in India. Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn has reportedly started early work on this model at a factory in Bengaluru, The Information reported. This will further reduce its reliance on China.

However, the iPhone 17 is in the early development stage right now, the report suggested. Engineers at Foxconn in India are creating prototypes to see if they can meet Apple’s quality standards. Apple wants to ensure that these devices can match the quality of those made in California. By developing phones closer to where they will be assembled, Apple hopes to improve efficiency and lower costs in the future.

Display: The iPhone 17 is likely to have a bigger display with a 6.3-inch. However, one of the biggest upgrades to expect is the 120Hz refresh rate which has been limited to Pro models so far.

Processor: Based on past trends, it is expected to use the new A19 chip and may come with 8GB of RAM for better performance.

Camera Setup: While the rear camera setup is expected to remain the same with a 48MP main camera along with a 12MP secondary ultra-wide camera, it will be the selfie camera which might get an upgrade to 24MP for the first time.
