According to the villagers, despite many efforts, the connecting bridge to cross the river has not yet been built. This has been the reason; the body of the elderly man was brought through a cable trolley as the Gaula river was in spate amid heavy rains.

Apart from this, the villagers have expressed their displeasure and accused the government of neglecting them for decades. Decades-old demand of the village for a hanging bridge remains unfulfilled

According to the villagers, about 20 families reside here, but the decades-old demand of the entire village for a hanging bridge remains unfulfilled so far. This village, located at a short distance from Haldwani city, has served the country from the British Army to the Indian Army. Even today, more than a dozen youths are serving in the army to serve the country. However, this village is still deprived of basic amenities.

This lack of infrastructure has led to challenges in development

The lack of roads and bridges in Uttarakhand has been a significant issue, especially in its remote hilly areas. Despite efforts to improve infrastructure, many villages still lack proper connectivity. For instance, around 25% of villages in Uttarakhand do not have access to roads. This lack of infrastructure has led to challenges in development, migration of residents, and difficulties in accessing essential services.

Efforts are being made to address these issues, such as the Uttarakhand Disaster Recovery Project, which has built over 80 bridges and improved road connectivity in affected areas. However, the terrain and frequent natural disasters continue to pose challenges.
