Amethi: Following the brutal murder of four members of Dalit family in Amethi, Rahul Gandhi expressed deep sorrow. The Leader of the Opposition spoke to Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma to gather details about the incident and urged him to ensure justice for the grieving family. Rahul Gandhi assured that if necessary, he will visit Amethi himself to support the victims.

The tragic incident took place on Thursday night in Shivratanganj police station area of Amethi, where a government school teacher, Sunil, his wife Poonam, and their two young daughters were murdered. The exact motive behind the killings is still unclear, and the police are investigating various angles.

What Rahul Gandhi said

Rahul Gandhi, upon learning about the crime, reached out to the local MP and said, “Kishori ji, we are with the victimised Dalits, you should try to get them justice. If justice does not seem to be coming, then I will personally come for the victims.”

The police believe that the criminals who carried out the murders had come specifically to kill the family. They found no signs of robbery or theft, which indicates that looting was not the intention. Superintendent of Police Anoop Singh said, “The police received information that an unknown person had shot four people. Investigation is being done from every angle.”

Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati said this on Amethi murders

Political leaders, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and BSP leader Mayawati, have also expressed their grief. Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, “Is anyone there? Is it anywhere? We don’t want BJP.”

Capture

Mayawati also condemned the incident, tweeting, “The incident of the brutal murder of four members of a Dalit family in Amethi district of UP is extremely sad and worrying. The government should take strict action against the culprits and the policemen there so that the criminals do not remain fearless.”
