Mumbai: Intelligence agencies have reportedly informed the Maharashtra Police regarding a life threat to state Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Following the information, instructions have been issued to increase the security of the NCP leader.
‘Ajit Pawar or his convoy might be attacked’
According to the information received by the police, Ajit Pawar or his convoy might be attacked by a fundamentalist organizatio. The Deputy Chief Minister is currently on a tour of North and Western Maharashtra for Jan Samman Yatra. Speaking to TV9 Network, sources have revealed that some people are also being instigated for this.
The Maharashtra Police has made all possible security arrangements after receiving information regarding threats. The police are also monitoring his tours. As per officials, the state’s Deputy CM will visit Dhule and Malegaon Central in Jalgaon district on Monday. The intelligence department has asked the police to be cautious during this visit.
One of the two Rajya Sabha seats to Ajit Pawar faction
Elections are scheduled for two Rajya Sabha seats in Maharashtra on September 3. Both these seats became vacant after Piyush Goyal and Udayanraje Bhosale resigned from the Rajya Sabha for the Lok Sabha. One of the two seats seats from the BJP can be given to Ajit Pawar’s NCP. The names of former Satara MLA Baba Siddiqui and Nitin Patil are being discussed for the seat.
Importantly, due to the political turmoil in the state, several leaders are against Ajit Pawar in the NDA camp. His faction is also being blamed for the poor performance of the alliance in the Lok Sabha elections. Apart from this, there are also reports that some senior members of RSS are also angry with Ajit Pawar.
