New Delhi: A newlywed bride from Rajasthan was among the victims who lost their lives in the Air India plane crash incident on Thursday. Khushboo was going to London to meet her husband, a UK-based doctor, onboard ill-fated Air India plane that crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad Thursday afternoon.
The 21-year-old from Rajasthan’s Balotra district got married to Vipul in January this year. Her husband went back London just two months after the wedding. She was also heading to London to meet him on Thursday, just two days after her passport was renewed. Khushboo reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday night with her father and cousin.
Her father, Madan Singh, who had come to the airport to drop her had taken a picture with her before departure and shared it on WhatsApp status with the message: “Ashirwad Khushboo beta, going to London.” Khushboo’s family got the tragic news of the crash when they were driving back. An emotional video has surfaced where her family members can be seen bidding her farewell.

The Ahmedabad-London flight crashed on Thursday afternoon, seconds after it took off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport. Of the 242 people onboard, only one survived, Air India said in a statement. The plane brushed past one of the buildings in Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College(BJMC) compound before crashing and bursting into flames. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the official number of deceased will be declared only after DNA testing is completed.
