Ahmedabad: In a tragic incident on Thursday, an Air India flight carrying 242 on board crashed shortly after takeoff from the Ahmedabad airport. While 241 people lost their lives, one person was injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Each person who lost his or her life in the tragedy had a story to tell. Among the passengers who lost their lives were Riddhi Godhaniya and her son Kriaan. The mother-son duo used to live in London. They had come to Porbandar to visit their family.
Among other instances, another passenger, Syed Inayat Ali had come to India for Eid-ul-Adha along with eight members of his family from the United Kingdom. NIA, other central agencies visited the site on Friday
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other central agencies visited the Ahmedabad plane crash site on Friday, news agency PTI reported. However, officials have refused to divulge further details. It is important to note here that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has started a probe into the crash.
Efforts are also on to recover the black box of the aircraft, as it will help in providing important details about the disaster. It is a device that records information about an aircraft whenever it is flying.
