Ghaziabad: An Air India Express flight (IX 1511) scheduled to fly from Ghaziabad’s Hindon Airport to Kolkata was halted just before take off due to a technical fault.
The plane remained stuck on the runway for nearly an hour, causing panic and confusion among the passengers. The flight was eventually postponed as engineers tried to fix the issue.
While Air India has not yet issued a detailed official statement, an airline spokesperson confirmed the delay and said it was due to a “snag.”
The airline has offered passengers the option to reschedule their journey or get a full refund. Apologizing for the inconvenience, the spokesperson said passenger safety was their priority.
This incident comes just days after the tragic crash of Air India’s AI-171 flight in Ahmedabad, which killed 270 people. Investigators believe that incorrect settings during takeoff may have caused that crash.
