New Delhi: Hours after scrapping the Ahmedabad-London flight, Air India on Tuesday cancelled AI 143 Delhi-Paris flight after the “mandatory pre-flight checks identified an issue”. Due to this, the Air India flight AI 142, which was scheduled to fly from Paris to Delhi, has also been cancelled.
The delay of AI 143 means that the aircraft will run afoul of restrictions on night-time operations at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
Air India issues statement after cancellation
“We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers and are making alternative arrangements… We are providing hotel accommodation and also offering full refunds on cancellations or complimentary rescheduling, if opted for by the passengers,” the airline said.
Notably, this was the second Air India flight to have been cancelled in quick succession. Earlier in the day, the Ahmedabad-London Gatwick service was scrapped due to the unavailability of aircraft because of restrictions in airspace and precautionary checks. The developments came days after an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed in a locality shortly after take-off. At least 270 people have lost their lives in the tragedy. Of them, 241 were onboard the flight while others were the people on the ground.
Meanwhile, IndiGo flight 6E1272 flying from Muscat to Kochi was diverted to Nagpur due to security concerns. Issuing a statement, the airlines said, “We confirm receiving a security concern about IndiGo flight 6E1272 flying from Muscat to Kochi when the aircraft was operating its subsequent sector from Kochi to Delhi as 6E2706 on 17 June 2025. Following the protocol, the relevant authorities were immediately informed, and the aircraft was diverted to Nagpur.
