New Delhi: Chief Justice of India BR Gavai and companion judges of the Supreme Court on Thursday have expressed their deepest condolence and sympathies to the families affected by the tragic air crash of a London-bound Air India plane in Ahmedabad today.
A London-bound Air India plane crashed within few minutes after take off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport today. The Air India Flight AI 171 that crashed today had 242 people on board, including passengers and cabin crew.
The Air India plane was flying very law and it crashed into the residential quarters of government-run BJ Medical College in Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad and there are unconfirmed reports that several people living in these residential quarters have received injured in the crash.
“The Chief Justice of India and Companion Judges of the Supreme Court of India, along with the officials of the Registry express deepest condolence to the families affected by the tragic air crash at Ahmedabad today,” a Supreme Court release said.
The Supreme Court release further said that the CJI also expressed his concern for the inmates of the BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.
“The Chief Justice of India has also expressed his concern for the inmates of the BJ Medical College and Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad,” the release said.
“During this difficult times our thoughts and prayers are with them. May they find strength and solace in the support of their loved ones,” CJI Gavai said.
