New Delhi: AG Noorani, a noted former Supreme Court lawyer, scholar and political commentator passed away in Mumbai on Thursday. He was 93.
Noorani was renowned for his significant contributions to multiple fields, including law, history, and political science. He authored several notable books, such as The Kashmir Question, Constitutional Questions in India, The RSS and the BJP: A Division of Labour, Badruddin Tyabji, Ministers’ Misconduct, Brezhnev’s Plan for Asian Security, The Presidential System, and The Trial of Bhagat Singh.
National Conference leader and ex-Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah took to X to offer condolences.
“Sorry to hear about the demise of A G Noorani Sb earlier today. Noorani Sb was a man of letters, an accomplished lawyer, a scholar & a political commentator. He wrote extensively on matters of law and on subjects like Kashmir, RSS and the constitution. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat,” he wrote.
