Bengaluru: In a first, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Marshal AP Singh flew in the indigenously built Light Combat Aircraft Tejas for 45 minutes, at the Aero India Show 2025, currently being held in Bengaluru. While IAF Chief Marshal AP Singh was in the pilot seat, the army chief was in the co-pilot’s seat.
The sortie started at 1:30 PM this afternoon. Before the sorties, the complete medical and all parameters of the army chief, including the blood pressure, were checked. The Teja aircraft took off from Yelahanka in Bengaluru.
Aero India 2025 is the largest event of its kind
It may be noted that Aero India 2025 is the largest event of its kind in India. Organised by the Ministry of Defence, it is a biennial air show and aviation exhibition, which is being held in Bengaluru.
Importantly, this is the 15th edition of the show which is currently going on in Bengaluru. The event brings together several government officials, technology experts, global industry leaders, and defense strategists under one platform. It not only shows the technological prowess of the country but also helps in providing discussions and debates among experts.
In recent times, the Aero India event has evolved as a major initiative that helps in highlighting the latest aerospace technology. The event is also a critical forum for discussions between domestic as well as international stakeholders. As per the government, the show, the show suggests India’s commitment to the advancement of aerospace and defense potentials.
As per Press Information Bureau earlier, this year’s Aero India event which included a curtain raiser event, inaugural event, Defence Ministers’ Conclave, CEOs’ Round Table, iDEX start-up event, and air shows. Apart from these, a large exhibition area was also dedicated to the India Pavilion. The theme of this year’s event is ‘BRIDGE – Building Resilience through International Defence and Global Engagement’.
