Former Deputy Prime Minister of the country and BJP President Lal Krishna Advani will be given the Bharat Ratna award. Advani’s 8 decade long public life has been full of ups and downs, but he never compromised on probity and decorum. Born in Karachi in 1927, Lal Krishna Advani came to India after partition and then reached the pinnacle of power here. His life covers the story of both sides of the Indian border. Even in 2005, when he met former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, there was a long conversation between the two about St. Patrick’s School in Karachi, from where Advani had studied.
General Pervez Musharraf also studied from this St. Patrick’s School. So both of them had their own memories and stories, which they kept sharing for a long time. In fact, St. Patrick’s School also has an illustrious history, due to which it is remembered. Apart from Lal Krishna Advani, there were many famous personalities among the alumni of St. Patrick’s School, who were known not only in Pakistan but all over the world. Of the students who graduated from this school, two became PM of Pakistan and two were President. Apart from this, there are many cricketers, army chiefs, scholars and celebrities who once studied in St. Patrick’s School.
An organization of Christians had established this school in 1861. It was a big thing to study through English media at that time and the children of rich people of undivided India used to study in this school. Today Pakistan is in a bad state and its education system is also weak, but the charm of this school remains more or less the same. Apart from Advani, former PM of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz, Muhammad Khan Junejo were among those who studied from this school. Apart from this, two former Presidents of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and General Pervez Musharraf had also received their schooling from here.
4 CMs and many stalwarts of Sindh province came out from here
Four Chief Ministers of Sindh province of Pakistan also emerged from this school. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s father Shah Nawaz Bhutto also studied here. Former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri was also a student here. Apart from these people, Danish Kaneria, Javed Miandad, Wasim Bari, Faisal Iqbal, who were part of the Pakistan team, were also students here. Apart from these people, many people associated with the judiciary of Pakistan were also students of this school.
