ADM suicide: Naveen’s family demand PP Divya’s arrest; Divya to approach high court

Kannur: PP Divya, the Kannur district panchayat president and CPM leader has decided not to surrender before the police team. Sources in Kannur say that PP Divya is still in Kannur city premises and have not travelled out of the city.

Meanwhile, prosecution has stated that there is no legal hassles to arrest PP Divya as the bail plea is been rejected.

“The police should arrest her immediately. She is is the one who is responsible for our family being facing the current situation”, she said.

Babu’s brother Praveen said that the family would continue the legal battle if Divya files an appeal.

Advocate K Vishwan represented Divya in the case, while Advocate K Ajith Kumar appeared for the prosecution and Advocate John S. Ralph represented Naveen Babu’s wife, Manjusha. Meanwhile, the special investigation team continues to gather evidence in Naveen Babu’s case, with statements recorded from collectorate staff.

Meanwhile, the location of PP Divya is still not traceable. Sources confirm that she had sought for treatment at a private hospital two days ago.

There are allegations that the government and the police were helping her to stay in hiding in various parts of Kannur. Meanwhile, the Congress and the BJP have been demanding her arrest.

Meanwhile, PP Divya’s advocate has hinted that they will approach the Kerala High court challenging the order of the Thalassery court.

It was on October 15 that Naveen Babu was found hanging at the quarters in Kannur. The previous day in a farewell meeting PP Divya, the Kannur district Panchayat president had made corruption allegations against Naveen Babu in public. It is widely believed that Naveen died by suicide due to the mental stress following the allegations being made. Chief minister had said that stringent action will be taken against Divya if found guilty.
