Kanpur: At least 20 coaches of Sabarmati Express derail in Kanpur in the wee hours of Saturday. Train number 19168 derailed in a block section between Kanpur and Bhimsen station around 2.30 am. The train was en route to Jhansi. As per initial reports, no loss of lives or injuries has been reported so far.
The rail route has been disrupted due to the derailment. According to North Central Railway, Sabarmati Express 19168, which operates between Varanasi Junction and Ahmedabad, derailed after striking a boulder.
