SIIMA 2024: One of the most prestigious award ceremonies of the South Indian film industry, the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2024 is being held in Dubai. The first day of this award night proved to be truly memorable. Some of the big names from the Kannada (Sandalwood) and Telugu (Tollywood) industry were honored for their outstanding contributions. The event was held at the World Trade Center in Dubai, where it was hosted by Rishi-Shubhra Ayyappa for the Kannada category and Sudigali Sudheer-Simran Chowdhary for the Telugu category.
Talking about the winners, Telugu star Nani received the Best Actor award for his brilliant performance in the film ‘Dasara’. The film also won several other awards, including the Best Director title for Srikanth Odela and the Best Actress award for Keerthy Suresh. In the Kannada category, Rakshit Shetty was given the Best Actor award for ‘Sapta Sagaradache Elo – Side A’. Mrunal Thakur won the Best Actress Critics Award for her performance in ‘Hi Nanna’.
