Bride elopes with lover on way to in-laws house in Ghazipur, leaves groom shocked

New Delhi: In a shocking incident from Ghazipur district, a newly wedded bride has eloped with her lover while she was on her way to her in laws house. This incident has left the groom shocked. The groom has claimed a loss of jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh. The police has registered a case based on the complaint from the bride’s father against her lover.

The incident took place in the Birno police station area. According to police sources, a wedding ceremony was conducted on the night of June 3 in a village under Birno jurisdiction. All customary rituals were completed and the bride was sent off with her husband, Brijesh Kumar, the next morning.

However, on their way an unexpected turn of events occurred. A man riding a motorcycle stopped the car and told Brijesh that the bride’s mother had fallen sick and that it was important for the bride to meet her once. He, further, claimed that he would bring the bride back shortly. Soon, they disappeared.

The man is married and is father to three children.

The bride’s father has since filed a complaint against the accused and the police have launched a manhunt. Station House Officer Birno said an FIR has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
