The matter came to light when Noida Police arrested Elvish Yadav on March 17 on charges of buying and selling snake venom. During the investigation, information related to money laundering came to light, after which ED intervened in the case and started action. Police claim that snake venom was used for intoxication in the parties organized by Elvish. Based on these allegations, the police had registered a case under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Wildlife Protection Act and Indian Penal Code.
However, Elvish Yadav has completely rejected these allegations, calling them fake and baseless. In the initial investigation, the Noida Police had dropped the charges under the NDPS Act, admitting that some of the allegations were made due to misunderstanding. Despite this, serious allegations like smuggling of snakes and use of drugs still stand.
After this action of ED, the properties of Elvish and Fazilpuria have been tightened. The properties related to both were seized at various places in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. This big action of the Enforcement Directorate has given another blow to the controversial career of Elvish Yadav, due to which he is constantly in the headlines.
