World Malayali Council strengthens ties in Nepal

The World Malayali Council (WMC), a global organization of Malayalis, is committed to promoting the interests of the Malayali community worldwide. With its global headquarters in New Jersey, USA, WMC has been actively engaging with Malayalis across the globe, fostering unity, and promoting cultural exchange.

In a significant development, WMC leaders recently visited Nepal to strengthen ties and explore opportunities for growth. The delegation, led by Global President Dr. Babu Stephen, was warmly received by Nepal’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Damodar Bhandari.

During the meeting, Minister Bhandari assured the WMC of full support for their activities in Nepal. He also expressed encouragement for Malayali entrepreneurs starting new ventures. Dinesh Nair, Global Vice Chairman, said that WMC’s presence in Nepal would open up new avenues for collaboration and growth.

The delegation, which included newly appointed Secretary General Shaji Mathew Mulamoottil and Vice Chairman Surendran Kannatt, also met with representatives of the Malayali community and Indian Embassy officials. Fr. Roby, who is leading the initiative to form a new province, was also part of the delegation.

The WMC leaders visited Nepal after attending the WMC Global Conference in Bangkok, where they met with representatives of the Malayali community and Indian Embassy officials. They also have a scheduled meeting with the Nepal Prime Minister.

The meeting marks a significant step towards establishing a new WMC province in Nepal, and WMC’s continued efforts to promote Malayali culture and interests globally.
