‘Pakistan must be put back on FATF grey list’: Owaisi says in Riyadh, exposes its terror links

New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi pointed out that there are “clear evidence” that Pakistan was involved in terrorism.

During an interaction in Riyadh, Asaduddin Owaisi, who is part of the all-party delegation on Operation Sindoor led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, highlighted the promotion of Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir to Field Marshal and pointed to the presence of a US-designated terrorist seated next to him at the celebratory event. Owaisi also displayed a photo to substantiate his claim.

He emphasised that there was a need to control terror funding to terrorist organisations. Owaisi demanded that Pakistan should be put back on the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog.

Owaisi said: “Pakistan must be put back on the FATF grey list. That is where we will be able to control this terror financing of all these terrorist organisations. When this person (Asim Munir) was made a Field Marshal in Pakistan, a US-designated terrorist called Mohammad Ehsan was sitting right beside the Field Marshal. There are photographs of him shaking hands with this field marshal.”

‘Clear evidence of Pak’s involvement in terrorism’

The AIMIM president added that there was clear evidence of Pakistan’s involvement. He underlined that terrorist groups are thriving and receiving training in Pakistan, with the objective of destabilising India and inciting further Hindu-Muslim riots across the country.

Owaisi also recalled that despite India providing comprehensive evidence to Islamabad after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, no action was taken. He exposed Pakistan’s lie regarding Sajid Mir, one of the key accused in the Mumbai attacks. “One meeting was held in Germany, and India wanted one Sajid Mir to be indicted, but Pakistan said he’s dead… Pakistan came up to the Committee of FATF and said Sajid Mir is alive. Can you imagine the country which was saying he’s dead, suddenly, he’s alive?” Owaisi wondered. He added that Indian probe agencies had recorded conversations between the 26/11 attackers and their handlers in Pakistan, and submitted this proof to Islamabad.
