Hisar: The father of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra on Wednesday said that he was unaware of the reasons behind her arrest and claimed he was not informed about the case details. He also stated that he could not afford legal help and requested a court-appointed lawyer.

Harish Malhotra added that the police had taken away his phone and one of Jyoti’s journals during the investigation. He said that his daughter would often return home after several days, saying she had been in Delhi and that due to poor health, he was unable to attend her court hearings.

Jyoti Malhotra was arrested on suspicion of supplying sensitive information to a Pakistani citizen. According to police sources, she had been in touch with Hasan Ali, who is believed to be associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. Chats recovered from her phone suggested she had expressed a desire to marry Hasan in Pakistan, a move officials suspect was aimed at increasing her popularity on social media.

Sources revealed that Jyoti had visited Pakistan, where Hasan Ali reportedly arranged high-end facilities for her, including travel and accommodation. She allegedly continued to stay in touch with him even after returning to India. The police also linked her with another Pakistani intelligence official named Danish, through whom she had first come in contact with Hasan.

Investigators found that Jyoti had been communicating with several people in Pakistan through platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat. During these chats, she reportedly shared sensitive information. She also confessed to meeting Danish at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi multiple times.

Police found four bank accounts under Jyoti’s name, with some transactions traced to Dubai. Authorities are currently examining the nature of these transactions and their possible links to her activities. Jyoti reportedly admitted to working on instructions from people in Pakistan.
