At 11:30 AM, following prayers and Vedic rituals, the doors were formally opened for devotees. Priest Shivling Swami then decorated the self-manifested Shivling of Lord Madmaheshwar Ji in its sacred Samadhi form, allowing devotees to first receive Nirvana Darshan, followed by Shringar (Adorned) Darshan.

Before the doors opened, the movable idol doli of Lord Madmaheshwar Ji was also taken to inspect the storehouse and sacred utensils, ensuring everything was in place for the pilgrimage season.

Temple committee’s preparation for yatra

The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) had meticulously planned for the opening and smooth conduct of the Yatra, ensuring that facilities and arrangements were in place for incoming pilgrims. BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi extended his congratulations to all devotees and expressed confidence that a large number of pilgrims would arrive for darshan. BKTC Vice President Rishi Prasad Sati, Vijay Kaparvan, and CEO Vijay Prasad Thapliyal also conveyed their happiness over the successful opening of the temple doors.

Celebrations and devotee participation

BKTC Media In-Charge Dr. Harish Gaur shared details of the movable idol’s journey from Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath to Madmaheshwar Temple. The opening ceremony saw the active presence of Panch Gondari rights holders, including BKTC former member Shiv Singh Rawat, Vedpathi Arun Nautiyal, temple manager Prakash Purohit, Devra in-charge Devendra Patwal, Doli Yatra in-charge Deepak Panwar, and pilgrims from Gondar village.

With the Madmaheshwar doors now open, devotees can embark on their spiritual journey and seek divine blessings at one of Uttarakhand’s most revered shrines.
