New Delhi: The standard definition of humanity is the quality of being humane, something that makes us to act with benevolence and kindness. Humanity defines a human, and it acts as an indicator of the compassion, sympathy, or generous behavior that a person is capable of showing. But there are some incidents which shake our very belief on humanity.

West Bengal has witnessed an incident which is bound to send a chill down the spine of anyone. And once again, the finger of complaint has been raised towards the police, as per reports. On Monday, a person named Pradip Kumar Das (63) lost his life in road accident in the East Burdwan district after a dumper truck struck him at around 8 pm. He was a lotter ticket seller by profession and used to live at the Guskhara municipality’s Sirishtala, Ward Number 11. Pradip did not have any shop and used to go around Guskhara town selling lottery tickets. He used to sell tickets three times a day at different places in the town.

The tragic moment of the son

Pradip’s son Sudip Das rushed to the spot upon hearing the news of his father’s accident, and the police of the Guskhara station also reached the place. According to Sudip, his father was walking along the road on his way to home after a period of rainfall and thunderstorm, when he was hit by a dumper truck from the back. The dumper went over his body, crushing it completely. Little did Sudip know that more misery awaited him.

When contacted, District Superintendent of Police Sayak Das said, “We are investigating the matter and will find out what happened.” Since the news came to surface, it has caused a great uproar across the society.
