Kiran Rijiju calls Mamata Banerjee, TMC to send Abhishek Banerjee in Centre’s all-party delegations of MPs: Report

New Delhi: According to PTI, Abhishek Banerjee, the second-in-command in Trinamool Congress (TMC), is going to represent West Bengal’s ruling party in the all-party delegations of MPs that will go to several countries to highlight India’s message and policy of zero intolerance against terrorism.

The Indian government is sending several MPs across party lines to promote the stance of the country following Operation Sindoor in which Indian Armed Forces retaliated against the Pahalgam terror attack and destroyed several terrorist bases. Notably, Union Minister Kiran Rijiju called Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee requesting to send a representative in delegation team and the latter proposed Abhishek Banerjee’s name for international delegation

The moves comes after after CM Banerjee and her party expressed displeasure at the Centre choosing names for other parties without consulting them. Notably, TMC MP Yusuf Pathan opted out of the all-party delegation after Centre chose him as the representative of the party, as per reports.
