New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said that India is one of the oldest countries in the world and its role is that of an elder brother. India is a nation which promotes peace, harmony and religion in the world. Referring to the recent strikes by India against Pakistan, the RSS chief said that it is very important for India to be powerful. He was speaking at an award ceremony organized at Ravinath Ashram in Harmara, Jaipur.

Bhagwat said that there has been a tradition of sacrifice in India. We worship all great men, from Lord Ram to Bhamashah who sacrificed their all for the society. He emphasised that even to give the message of peace and dharma, one needs to be powerful.

Referring to the recent military action against Pakistan, Bhagwat said that India does not hold any grudge against anyone. But the world listens to and understands the language of love, only when you have power. This is the nature of the world, which cannot be changed, he added.

Therefore for the welfare of the world, it is important that India becomes powerful, said BHagwat. The RSS chief said that now the world has seen our strength.

World welfare is duty of Hindu religion

The RSS chief further said that world welfare is our dharma. This is especially the duty of Hindu religion, he added. This was the tradition of our rishis, which is today being taken forward by the saints, according to Bhagwat.

During the program, Bhagwat shared his experiences with Sant Ravinath Maharaj. He said that his compassion guided Sangh volunteers to perform good deeds.

Bhagwat to visit Pushkar

Bhagwat was honoured by Bhavanath Maharaj during the function in Jaipur. Several Sangh members, saints and devotees attended the programme. After the programme, the RSS chief is set to visit Pushkar, where he will attend the wedding of senior advocate JP Rana.

Apart from Bhagwat, workers of the BJP andSangh are also expected to be present for the wedding ceremony.
