During the probe, it was revealed that the three arrested terrorists were in close contact with LeT terrorist Aabid Qayoom Lone, son of Abdul Qayoom Lone, and another person from Wussan Pattan, who reached Pakistan in 2020 and became a member of the LeT outfit.

According to the police, the said terrorist is believed to be operating from Pakistan, and is motivating local youth to join terrorist ranks. He had also directed them to carry out related activities in the Narbal-Magam area of District Budgam, news agency ANI reported. The three arrested terrorists were in his direction. They were also asked to execute terrorist activities in the area. They were also asked to radicalize locals and make them join the terror outfit.

The tensions between India and Pakistan have increased in recent times following a terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed. The Resistant Front, a sister group of LeT, was found to be involved in the incident. With anger gripping across the country, India decided to launch nine terror camps of LeT in Pakistan, as well as two other terror groups from India’s neighbouring country JeM and HM.
