New Delhi: India on Monday denied claims by the Pakistani military of having damaged Indian air force bases through missiles. At a press briefing India showed time stamped images of multiple airbases in India, which remained untouched by any missile or drones. Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri also debunked the misinformation campaign being run by Pakistan, ever since tensions escalated between the 2 countries.

Pakistan attacking Western borders

Talking about the attack by Pakistan, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said that the Pakistani Army is continuously attacking the western borders. The country has used drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions and fighter jets to attack India’s military sites. She said that India has neutralised these threats but Pakistan tried to infiltrate through air and managed to damage equipment and personnel at air force bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, Bathinda. Air infiltration was attempted by the neighbouring country at 26 places in total, she said.

Colonel Querishi said that the Pakistan Army not only targeted military infrastructure, but also targeted health facilities and schools. An air force base in Punjab was also targeted and a high-speed missile launched in that direction, at around 1:40 at night.

India further said that Pakistan is moving its troops to border areas. The troop movement has already been detected by India.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that it is Pakistan which is carrying out provocative actions and escalating the tense situation at the border. India’s response has been responsible and the country has reacted in a measured fashion to these provocations and escalations by the Pakistani side, he said.

India also rejected claims by Pakistan of destruction of airfields at Surat and Sirsa. No airfields have been damaged and nor have the S-400 systems been touched by the enemy, said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.
