Gurudwara struck

Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling in Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri areas along the LoC after Operation Sindoor. A shell fired from Pakistan hit a corner of Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha in Poonch district, causing minor structural damage, according to Narinder Singh, President of the District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee.

“We will not leave the place and support the Indian Army. The ceasefire may be violated today as well. The operation is a befitting reply. We have sent the women and children from here, but the men will stay here,” a resident was quoted as saying by ANI.

25 airports closed by India

Hours after Operation Sindoor, India shut down 25 airports till May 9. These airports included Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Shimla, Bhatinda, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Pathankot, Jammu, Leh, Mundra, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, and Bhuj.

In a meeting with lieutenant governors and chief ministers of border states, Union Home Minister Amit Shah instructed them to keep the SDRF, Civil Defence, Home Guards, NCC, and other agencies on alert for any eventuality.
