‘Targeted only those who killed our innocents’: Rajnath Singh hails Indian armed forces for ‘Operation Sindoor’

New Delhi: Hours after airlines under ‘Operation Sindoor’ were successfully conducted at nine locations Pakistan-based terror groups LeT and JeM, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed the armed forces on Wednesday for the successful operation.

The Indian armed forces hit nine locations of two terror groups early on Wednesday, days after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed and several others were injured. The Resistant Front, a sister organisation of LeT had taken responsibility for the attack. There was massive anger across the country following the attack.

Among the locations which were hit by India in airstrike include Markaz Taiba of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Muridke, Markaz Subhan Allah of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Bahawalpur, Hizbul Mujahideen’s Mehmoona Joya Facility in Sialkot and LeT’s base in Markaz Ahle Hadith in Barnala and its camp in Muzaffarabad’s Shawai Nalla, officials said.

‘Jinh mohi maara, tinh mohi maare’

Speaking at an event on Wednesday, hours after the attack, Singh said as per news agency ANI, “We followed the principle of Lord Hanuman that he followed while going into Ashok Vatika. Jinh mohi maara, tinh mohi maare. We targeted only those who killed our innocent.”

He added, “ Last night, our Indian armed forces displayed their valour and bravery, and scripted a new history. Indian armed forces took action with precision, alertness, and sensitiveness. The targets we decided were accurately demolished at the right time with precision.”

Pointing out that armed forces ensured that civilians were not affected, he added further, “In a way, we can say that Indian jawans showed precision, alertness, and humanity. On behalf of the entire country, I congratulate the jawans and officers. I also congratulate PM Modi for supporting the armed forces.”

Addressing a press meeting this morning, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that India decided to carry out airstrikes to bring perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack to justice. He added that India’s airstrikes were in line with the UN Security Council’s statement on holding perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack accountable for the attack.
