Pakistan continues ceasefire violations for 12th night, Army responds in ‘proportionately’

New Delhi: For the 12th consecutive night, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) during the intervening night of May 5 and 6. In a statement, the Indian Army confirmed it responded to the ceasefire violation in a “proportionate manner”.

The ceasefire violation was reported from areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir. The Army statement further informed that the firing involved small arms.
