New Delhi: Days after the Pahalgam Terror attack in which 26 people were killed and several people injured, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday held a review meeting with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and asked him to take effective steps against perpetrators. He also spoke on the need to crush the terrorism infrastructure.

During the review meeting, Sinha also observed that the nation has full faith of the army, police, and CAPFS, and these forces must work in tandem and neutralise the terrorists responsible for Pahalgam attack. Speaking to army officials, he added as per ANI, “Every perpetrator and supporter of the Pahalgam terror attack, whatever his location or affiliation, must be hunted and they must pay the heavy price for the cowardly and dastardly act against our citizens.”

The army chief arrived in Srinagar early this morning

The Lieutenant Governor and the army chief also reviewed the security mechanism in place, including short and long term measures taken by the army. Earlier in the day, the army chief arrived in Srinagar to review the security situation in the region. The army chief also met senior Army commanders who are deployed in the Kashmir Valley, apart from officials from other security agencies. He was also briefed on actions taken against terrorists in Kashmir and the Pakistan Army’s efforts to violate the ceasefire along the India-Pakistan border. Since the terror attack, the Indian Army has launched numerous search operations to neutralise the terrorists.

Meanwhile, the ties between India and Pakistan have hit a low with New Delhi taking a number of tough measures against Pakistan. It not only suspended Indus Water Treaty, but also cancelled Pakistani visas on the other hand. Pakistan also banned Indian aircraft from using its airspace.
