The party is trying to complete its organizational process before the election of the national president. There are three main possibilities for the new state president

No change: There is a strong buzz that Mahendra Bhatt, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, may retain his position as state president. His leadership has led to the party’s victory in most elections so far, and his coordination with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is considered a key factor.

New experiment: Some within the party believe that the reins of the organization could be handed over to a new and young face, possibly a woman. This move could be aimed at wooing the women and youth vote bank before the implementation of women reservation in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Mature and genuine face: Long-time party workers believe that the command of the organization should be handed over to an ideologically strong, genuine, and active face. This person should have come out of the nursery of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and fulfilled organizational responsibilities through ABVP and Yuva Morcha.

Possible names within party organization

If Bhatt is not repeated, the names being discussed within the organization include state general secretary Aditya Kothari, MLA Vinod Chamoli, former cabinet minister Khajan Das, and another cabinet minister. Young faces being considered include BJP MLA BB Gairola and former president of Badri-Kedar Temple Committee Ajendra Ajay. Female faces being discussed include Mahila Morcha’s national general secretary Dipti Rawat Bhardwaj and party MLA Asha Nautiyal.
