He had breakfast in Madhya Pradesh, lunch in Bihar, and dinner in Assam. Here’s a look at the highlights of his visits and key statements.

Madhya Pradesh: Inauguration of GIS 2025

PM Modi began his day in Madhya Pradesh, where he inaugurated the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the state’s remarkable transformation over the last two decades. He noted that two decades ago, investors were hesitant about Madhya Pradesh, but today, it ranks among the top investment destinations in India.

He also underscored the importance of three key sectors—textiles, tourism, and technology—stating that these industries will play a crucial role in shaping India’s future and generating millions of jobs. He emphasised that India’s textile sector already employs millions and has a strong traditional foundation, with Madhya Pradesh being considered the “Cotton Capital” of the country.

During his visit, PM Modi held one-on-one discussions with around 40 legislators, advising them against exerting pressure for official transfers. Instead, he encouraged them to build better coordination with officers, engage with the public as they did before being elected, and focus on development rather than frequenting the Chief Minister’s office for approvals.

Bihar: Attack on Opposition at Kisan Samman ceremony

Following his engagements in Madhya Pradesh, PM Modi travelled to Bihar, where he addressed a farmers’ honour ceremony. He also released the 19th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and inaugurated several projects.

In his speech, he took a sharp dig at the opposition, remarking that those who could “even eat fodder meant for animals” could never bring positive change. This was a veiled reference to past corruption scandals.

PM Modi elaborated on the measures taken by the NDA government to improve farmers’ conditions. He stressed that farmers require high-quality seeds, affordable fertilisers, irrigation facilities, protection for livestock against diseases, and financial security during crises—all of which were neglected in the past but have now been addressed by the government.

Assam: A grand reception in Guwahati

Concluding his whirlwind tour, PM Modi reached Assam, where he attended the Jhumoir Binondini programme in Guwahati. He was greeted by an electrifying atmosphere, with the entire stadium echoing with enthusiasm. Addressing the gathering, he said, “The energy here is extraordinary. This entire stadium is filled with excitement, joy, and festivity.”

He also paid tribute to Assam’s rich tea culture, saying that the fragrance and beauty of the tea gardens added to the event’s charm. In a light-hearted remark, he added, “Who knows the aroma of tea better than a tea seller?”—a reference to his humble beginnings as a tea vendor.
