Uttarkashi: In a proposed visit to Uttarkashi district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may don traditional Pahadi attire during his trip to Mukhaba and Harshil.

The Uttarkashi administration is preparing a special Pahadi outfit for the Prime Minister, which includes a coat and pajama made from sheep wool Pattoo, along with a Pahadi cap. The Nalanda self-help group is diligently working on this outfit, selecting a grey and almond peach color for the dress. They have already completed stitching the coat and cap.

Change in schedule due to weather conditions

While PM Modi’s visit was initially scheduled for February 27, it may now be advanced to February 26, due to the possibility of heavy rain and snowfall predicted for Uttarkashi district on the 27th. This change in schedule aligns with the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, making the visit even more special.

Nalanda self-help group is busy preparing a traditional Pahadi outfit

The Nalanda self-help group is busy preparing a traditional Pahadi outfit for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as the Uttarkashi administration plans to gift him this attire during his visit. The administration has requested a woolen dress from the Nalanda self-help group, which includes a woolen coat, pajama, Pahadi cap, and woolen shawl. Bhagirathi Negi, the head of the Nalanda group, mentioned, “We have selected a grey and almond peach color for the cloth, and the coat and cap have already been stitched.”

PM expected to address a public meeting in Harshil

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has urged the Prime Minister to visit a winter tourist destination in the state to promote winter tourism. As a result, the administration is busy making preparations for his visit. Prime Minister Modi is expected to address a public meeting in Harshil after worshiping Mother Ganga in Mukhaba.

Promotion of winter tourism in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi reviewed the proposed program and preparations during a meeting at the Secretariat. She emphasized the importance of promoting winter tourism in Uttarakhand during the Prime Minister’s visit. The Chief Secretary instructed all departments to complete their preparations on time and ensure all arrangements are in order. She also mentioned that she would personally inspect the preparations in Mukhaba and Harshil.

All arrangements in the district are being taken care of

Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman provided various updates through a presentation, while Uttarkashi DM Meherban Singh Bisht assured that all arrangements in the district are being taken care of. The premises of the Horticulture Department are being leveled for the Prime Minister’s program in Harshil. Additionally, the beautification of the temple and village buildings in Mukhaba, construction of a convenient and safe path, and repair of roads in the Harshil-Mukhaba area are underway. The road construction work till the helipad in Bagori is in its final stage. Other arrangements, including parking, water logging solutions, electricity system, and smart toilets, are also being addressed.

CM Dhami to monitor the arrangements today

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami is set to visit Mukhaba and Harshil today to inspect the ground preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.
