Delhi govt terminates personal staff appointed during previous AAP regime

New Delhi: The services of officers and personal staff appointed to the chief minister and cabinet ministers under the previous Aam Aadmi Party regime were terminated on Friday as the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government took office on Friday.

Further, the government officers and personal staffers appointed to departments different than theirs by the previous regime have been instructed to immediately report back to their original departments, according to an official order dated February 20.

Many officers and employees had been deputed to various boards and corporations. They have now been asked to return to their parent departments.

Last week, all Delhi government departments were directed to provide details of contractual and personal staff appointed by the previous government. Following this review, these employees have been instructed to return to their original postings.
