New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday spoke of the significance of the state’s 2025-2026 budget, describing it as a crucial step in shaping the next 25 years following 75 years of the Constitution’s implementation. He said that the double-engine government is working on establishing a Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar memorial and culture centre in Lucknow. The budget, he added, has been designed with a focus on supporting the deprived, aligning with the core values of the Constitution.
“After a fabulous journey of 75 years since our Constitution was implemented, this budget is important for creating a roadmap for our next 25 years., ” CM Adityanath said.
CM Yogi Adityanath added that the budget is dedicated to the upliftment of the poor, farmers, youth and women, aligning with the principles of Sanatan philosophy. “The bugdet is dedicated to upliftment of poor, farmers, youth, women, in line with Sanatan philosophy, ” he said. Yogi said that the budget prioritises the deprived, focusing on Sanatana culture, women, poor and youth welfare. Previous budgets had distinct themes, including farmers (2017), infrastructure and industrial development (2018-19), women empowerment (2019), youth employment (2020), self-reliance (2021), Antyodaya to self-reliance (2022), strengthening self-reliance (2023), and Ramrajya (2024). The 2024 budget saw a record 65 crore tourists visit the state.
Yadav slams budget
Akhilesh Yadav slammed the budget, saying that it was their second-last budget, with the final one to be presented next year. After that, the people will have the opportunity to choose a new government. He further expressed his disappointment, saying that the budget had no connection to the government’s manifesto and lacked vision, just like the previous budgets. Yadav also claimed that the general public felt that no budget had been presented at all.
‘This was their (current UP government’s) second last budget. Next year, they will present their last budget, and after that, we will get the opportunity to choose a new government. This budget has no association with their manifesto. This budget, and all those before, have had no vision… The people think that the budget has not been presented at all, ” Yadav said.
