Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday slammed Samajwadi Party (SP) for objecting to the use of the regional languages in the state Assembly by some of the members of the House. Yogi said if some members is not comfortable in speaking upright Hindi, they should be free to share their view in their respective regional languages.
Yogi accused SP leaders of adopting double standards when it comes to embracing languages. The UP CM said they (SP leaders) want their children to study in public schools, while asking children from poor families to study in government schools.
“What is this that one should not speak Bhojpuri or Awadhi but advocate for Urdu? It is a very strange thing. The character of Samajwadis has become so double standards that they will send their children to public school and tell the children of others that there are no resources to study in the village school. This is their double standards,” said Adityanath in the state Assembly in the first day of the Budget session.

What Adityanath said about use of Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj in state Assembly?
Yogi said members in the House come from families from modest backgrounds, so they are comfortable in their respective regional languages.
“Different dialects of Uttar Pradesh, Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj and Bundelkhandi are getting respect in this House and our government is also taking forward the process of forming different academies for all these. This House is not only for pure literary and grammar scholars…If someone cannot speak fluently in Hindi, then he should get the right to present his views in Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj or Bundelkhandi as well,” added the UP CM.
