New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale arrived in Prayagraj on Sunday for a two-day visit to the Maha Kumbh. Hosabale will take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam on Monday. Speaking on the significance of the religious gathering, he described it as not just a fair of Sanatan culture but a unique confluence of devotees and a great festival of resolve.

“Maha Kumbh is not a crowd of people, it is a unique confluence of devotees. This is not just a Mela of Sanatan culture, it is a great festival of resolve,” Hosabale said in a statement after reaching Prayagraj.

Hosabale emphasises on the preservation and promotion of religion

Hosabale emphasised that the preservation and promotion of religion and culture require the coordinated efforts of social forces, saintly wisdom, and governance. He urged society, especially religious leaders, to actively guide the younger generation towards the values and traditions of Hinduism.

“The protection and promotion of religion and culture is possible only through the coordinated efforts of the society’s noble power, saint power and governance power,” Hosabale said.

Pilgrims continue to arrive in large numbers

The ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj continues to draw crores of devotees from around the world, making it one of the largest religious gatherings globally. So far, around 41 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at Maha Kumbh 2025. Pilgrims from across India and abroad continue to arrive in large numbers.

Key bathing days or “Amrit Snan” such as Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, and Vasant Panchami have already passed, yet the enthusiasm among devotees remains high. The Indian Railways and state transport services have introduced additional trains and buses, to cater to the demands of the devotees.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam along with his family.
