LG VK Saxena dissolves Delhi assembly after Atishi resigns as chief minister

New Delhi: Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena on Sunday dissolved the Seventh Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi with effect from February 8, 2025. The development came a day after BJP emerged victorious in the national capital after winning 48 out of 70 seats.

Meanwhile, Atishi, the incumbent resigned from her post as Delhi chief minister. She met Saxena in Raj Bhawan and tendered her resignation. The LG asked her to continue in her position till the formation of new government in the city.
