New Delhi: Delhi is witnessing a potential political change, with early trends of vote counting indicating a resounding victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This potential win marks a dramatic end to a 27-year absence from power in the national capital, a period dominated by the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The last time the BJP formed a government in Delhi was a fleeting 52 days in 1998, under the leadership of the late Sushma Swaraj.

Early trends showed the BJP leading on a commanding 40 seats, while the AAP is projected to win around 30. The Congress, initially showed marginally improved performance compared to previous elections but seems unlikely to win any seat for the third consecutive term.
