New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh made allegations on Thursday, claiming that seven party MLAs received offers to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of results of Delhi assembly elections. He said that BJP had allegedly offered Rs 15 crore to these MLAs in exchange for switching parties.

Singh said that BJP had already accepted defeat in the elections, even before the results were declared. He added, “We have told the MLAs to record such audio calls and complain about it. If someone meets them, they should make a video of it with a hidden camera.”

The AAP leader highlighted the issue, emphasizing that this was an attempt to lure the MLAs with large sums of money to form a government with the BJP. He also pointed out that BJP had tried to adopt similar tactics during previous elections in the past.

Sanjay Singh said, “Two things have become clear that BJP has accepted defeat before the counting. The method of horse-trading and crushing democracy that they adopt in the entire country, they have started it in Delhi as well.”

He also reminded the public that earlier, eight outgoing AAP MLAs, who were not given tickets for Delhi Assembly elections, had joined BJP. They claimed that their decision was due to alleged corruption and differences with the AAP’s ideology. This shift happened just a few days before the elections on February 1.

Sanjay Singh also cautioned AAP’s current MLAs and candidates, urging them to report such attempts and ensure that any such encounters were captured and shared with the media. He criticized BJP for trying to influence AAP’s leadership by using money and power, stating that “BJP uses money and investigative agencies, they use whatever way can create pressure.”

Despite the allegations, Singh was confident that AAP would continue to hold its ground. He expressed hope that, despite these challenges, the party’s efforts would ultimately lead to success in the elections. “Delhi has been saved,” he added.
