New Delhi: The fame of Radharani’s supreme devotee Premanand Maharaj has spread far beyond India, reaching devotees across the world. His discourses at Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan are widely followed through YouTube and other social media platforms.
Every day, thousands of devotees visit Vrindavan to seek his blessings. Many even gather along the path he takes to the ashram at 2 am, hoping for a glimpse of him. In the morning, devotees also attempt to attend his satsang and private interactions, though only a limited number can participate due to the overwhelming crowd.
Premanand Maharaj’s health has been deteriorating as both his kidneys are damaged, requiring daily dialysis. In light of his condition and the growing number of visitors, the ashram has announced that devotees will no longer be able to have his darshan at 2 am.

A post has been shaed on the social media platform X from the official account Bhajan Marg of Premanand Maharaj ashram. The post reads, “Information – All of you are informed that in view of Pujya Maharaj Ji’s health and increasing crowd, the place where Pujya Maharaj Ji used to go to Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj from 02:00 pm while doing padayatra, where everyone used to get darshan, is closed indefinitely.” The post has been made by the Ashram on the morning of February 6.
Who is Premanand Maharaj?
Premanand Govind Sharan, commonly known as Premanand Ji Maharaj, is an Indian Hindu guru. Born in 1969 in Kanpur, he left home at 13 to pursue spirituality. He became a monk and lived in Varanasi and Vrindavan. Premanand joined the Radhavallabh Sect and was initiated by his guru, Hit Gaurangi Sharanji Maharaj. He speaks about the importance of spirituality, guru and self-discipline. Premanand encourages people to maintain harmony, preserve celibacy and cultivate a positive character.
