Dehradun: Cold may return to Uttarakhand again on Monday, with cold expected to return in eight hilly districts as light to moderate snowfall is forecasted by IMD from February 3.

On February 3 and 9, light to moderate snowfall is expected in the regions of the eight districts of the state at an altitude of 3500 meters and above. Additionally, on February 4 and 5, light to moderate snowfall is likely in areas at an altitude of 3000 meters and above.

Cold returns in eight hill districts

Today, on Monday, light rainfall and snowfall are expected at some places in eight hilly districts. Weather will generally remain dry in the plains. According to Director of Meteorological Centre in Dehradun, Bikram Singh, light rainfall is expected at some places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar on Monday and Tuesday.

Weather remained dry on Sunday throughout the state

On Sunday, the weather remained dry throughout the state. The maximum temperature increased by four degrees Celsius. Warmth was felt as the day temperature rose above 25 degrees Celsius. However, it is still cold during the night and morning. The maximum temperature of Dehradun was 25.1 degrees Celsius, four degrees Celsius above normal, and the minimum temperature was 8.5 degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius above normal.

Pleasant weather in Nainital due to bright sunshine

The lake city had bright sunshine all day on Sunday. The heat was unbearable in the afternoon due to the strong sunshine, causing many people to seek shade. The weather remained pleasant here till the evening. Meanwhile, tourists who visited for sightseeing enjoyed the pleasant weather of Nainital to the fullest.

According to the forecast issued by the state meteorological department, there is a possibility of a change in the weather from Monday. A western disturbance is going to become active here. Its effect will remain till Tuesday. Meanwhile, there will be a possibility of light to moderate rain at some places.
