The LG added, “Not only is this statement misleading, but it also has no scientific basis. Such baseless claims from the government only create a sense of fear and insecurity among the public. Not only this, despite your party being busy with the Assembly elections, you repeated this misleading statement of yours and publicly alleged that the Haryana government deliberately mixed poisonous substance in the Yamuna to make people sick in Delhi.”

‘Misleading statements may create serious challenges to Delhi Govt’

“As a responsible citizen of Delhi, you know very well that no government department has any report that proves that the Haryana government has poisoned the Yamuna. Therefore, such baseless and misleading statements can create many serious challenges for the Delhi government,” Saxena wrote further observing that Atishi’s statement showed a ‘tendency to provoke people’ for political benefits.

The LG also pointed out that successive governments in Delhi tried to find solutions for ammonia in the Yamuna each year. He asked, “Didn’t you think earlier that Delhi could have been saved from starvation and health crisis because of such statements?”, he asked.
