Who does Kejriwal consider his real opponent – Bidhuri, Manoj Tiwari or Sandeep?

New Delhi: In an exclusive interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shared his thoughts on the opposition leaders from both BJP and Congress.  When asked who he considered a stronger opponent between BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari and Congress leader Sandeep Dixit, Kejriwal dismissed them all as “abusers”, claiming that none of them were real political rivals.

Kejriwal said that it was more important for representatives to engage in politics centered around people’s issues, such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public services like water and electricity. He criticized the opposition parties for not raising these critical issues and instead focusing on personal attacks.

BJP, Congress not raising main issues, says Kejriwal

“The issues that matter to the people are how schools are built, how hospitals are made, how roads are constructed, how water is provided, how electricity reaches every home, and how infrastructure is developed,” Kejriwal said.  “Whether it is BJP or Congress, they are not raising these issues. They are only abusing us, and we do not respond to abuse with more abuse; we respond with work,” he added.

During the rapid-fire round, the AAP leader expressed frustration with the lack of constructive political debates, stating that the opposition had shifted focus to irrelevant topics rather than addressing the needs of the public. His message was clear: the focus of politics should be on solving problems, not engaging in personal attacks.

Alongside Kejriwal, senior AAP leaders such as Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Raghav Chadha, and Manish Sisodia shared their perspectives on leadership and party strategy. The leaders outlined AAP’s vision for the future of Delhi and India, focusing on their commitment to transparent governance and social welfare. They highlighted the party’s successful policies in education, healthcare, and public infrastructure, which have helped improve the quality of life for Delhi’s residents.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate from New Delhi seat, Pravesh Verma, has accused Kejriwal of becoming desperate due to fear of defeat in the elections. Verma alleged that Kejriwal is using the resources of Punjab government, including teachers from government schools, who have been allegedly brought to Delhi for election campaigning.

Verma claimed that these teachers are trying to create a false atmosphere by pretending to be AAP workers. He further said that thousands of cars from Punjab have been seen roaming in Delhi over the past week, a matter he has brought to the attention of both  Election Commission and Delhi Police.

In response, Verma has filed a defamation lawsuit of Rs 100 crore against Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said that the money from the lawsuit would be used for the people of the New Delhi Assembly.

Verma also accused AAP of misleading the public and hiding its fear of losing the election. He alleged that Punjab Chief Minister, ministers, and AAP workers from Punjab are distributing liquor, CCTVs, and money in New Delhi constituency, using their private cars with “Punjab Government” stickers.
