Prayagraj: The spiritual head of Rishikesh-based Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, and US-born Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati offered prayers and performed a ‘Hawan’ ceremony at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
The ceremony took place at the Parmarth Niketan Kumbh Mela Camp, where they were joined by other devotees in the sacred rituals.

Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati shared her experience of participating in the first ‘Amrit Snan’ at the holy Triveni Sangam, describing it as a deeply spiritual and divine moment. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity and highlighted the event’s importance in uniting people from different countries and backgrounds in faith and devotion.
Reflecting on the significance of the Amrit Snan, Sadhvi Bhagawati said that the event sends a powerful message of unity, peace and faith to the world, especially during times of conflict and war. She also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their support in organizing the grand event.
On Makar Sankranti, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his best wishes to participants of the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025, encouraging them to take a holy dip in the Ganga. He shared his congratulations to saints, Kalpvasis, and devotees on the social media platform X.
The Chief Minister described Mahakumbh as a testament to the immense power and faith of Sanatan Dharma.
Important dates of Maha Kumbh Mela
Maha Kumbh began on January 13 and will continue till February 26. It includes several important bathing dates, such as Mauni Amavasya (Second Shahi Snan) on January 29, Basant Panchami (Third Shahi Snan) on February 3, Maghi Purnima on February 12, and Maha Shivaratri on February 26.
