Earlier in August last year, a landslide occurred on the Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra route near southern Deori in Jammu, causing a temporary disruption for pilgrims en route to the revered shrine. The incident, which took place amid heavy rainfall in the region, did not result in any injuries. The Yatra then resumed from the alternative route.

Last year, it was in February that fresh snowfall was witnessed in and around the Bhawan of Mata Vaishnodevi. The snowfall was witnessed in Bhairon Ghati, Himkoti in the Trikuta Hills, and along the route leading to the shrine. Despite the snow, the pilgrimage to the temple continued without any disruption.
