Largest police housing complex in Gujarat

Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for Gujarat’s largest Police Line, a residential complex designed for serving police personnel, which will accommodate 920 families.

The project, launched to coincide with Makar Sankranti, is being executed by the Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation. It will feature 18 towers, each with 13 floors, spread over 23,697 square metres in the Ghatlodia area.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also attended the ceremony. Each apartment will be a furnished 2-BHK unit with a carpet area of 55 square metres, according to an official release.

A unique aspect of the complex is that it will house the Ghatlodia police station on two floors of one of the buildings.

The Police Line will include basement parking for 930 cars, two lifts, an open garden, a water harvesting system, solar rooftop panels, and an electricity backup system, the release added.
