New Delhi: A hand written letter by late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on Kumbh has been making the headlines as his wife Laurene Powell Jobs visits the biggest religious gathering-Maha Kumbh-in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. The letter was reportedly written by Steve Jobs in 1974.

In his letter, the late Apple co-founder had detailed his plans to visit India during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The hand written letter has now been auctioned by Bonhams for Rs 4.32 cr.

The letter was written by Steve Jobs on his 19th birthday. Jobs wrote the letter to his childhood friend Tim Brown. The letter reflected Steve Jobs spiritual inclination and suggested that he was influenced by Hinduism. He expressed his desire to visit India for Kumbh Mela.

Steve Jobs wrote in the letter, “I wish to go to India for the Kumbh Mela, which starts in April. I will be leaving sometime in March, not really certain yet.” He signed off the letter with “Shanti, Steve Jobs”.

‘Crying many times’

In the letter, Jobs also spoke about ‘crying many times’. Initially, the Apple co-founder had planned to visit Neem Karoli Baba in Uttarakhand. Upon landing there, he found out that he died a year earlier, according to a report in NDTV. However, Steve Jobs stayed at the Kainchi Dham Ashram and learned the teaching of Neem Karoli Baba. He immersed himself in spirituality and culture of India during his seven months stay in the country.
