‘I’m dedicated to BJP, not interested in CM’s post’: Bidhuri rebuts Kejriwal’s claim

New Delhi: Ramesh Bidhuri, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidate for Kalkaji assembly seat, on Sunday denied the claims made by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal suggesting that he would be the BJP’s chief ministerial face for Delhi assembly elections. Bidhuri issued a statement, refuting Kejriwal’s claims, calling them part of misleading propaganda.

Bidhuri clarified that he is a loyal BJP worker and does not have any aspirations for the position of Chief Minister. “The party has given me a lot, and I have no claim for any post,” he said. He added that Kejriwal’s statements are an attempt to confuse the public.

What Kejriwal said

Kejriwal had earlier said that he was informed that Ramesh Bidhuri would soon be officially announced as the BJP’s CM candidate, a claim that the BJP candidate quickly dismissed. According to Bidhuri, Kejriwal’s statement, by suggesting that he would be the CM face, indirectly accepted that the BJP would form the next government in Delhi.

Bidhuri further pointed out that Kejriwal’s comment is an acknowledgment of his defeat, as the people of Delhi are reportedly dissatisfied with his governance, citing issues like the liquor scam, education scam, health issues, poor infrastructure, and unsafe drinking water. “The people want to get rid of liquor scam, education scam, health scam, Sheeshmahal scam, broken roads, dirty drinking water etc,” he added.

Bidhuri urges Delhiites not to be misled by claims of AAP

Bidhuri urged the people of Delhi to not be misled by such claims. “Give the majority to the BJP, because the BJP is dedicated to the citizens of Delhi,” he said. He reiterated that his focus is on working for the people and serving them, and that discussing the Chief Minister’s post in his context was baseless. “I am as dedicated to the BJP as I am to the people. Talking about the post of chief minister to me is completely baseless. I will continue to work continuously as your servant,” he added.

Earlier, Kejriwal had challenged Ramesh Bidhuri to a public debate, claiming that the BJP would announce him as their CM candidate soon. Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to Kejriwal’s remarks by saying that the decision about the BJP’s CM face would not be made by him (Kejriwal) but by the BJP itself.

The Delhi assembly elections are scheduled to take place on February 5, with results expected to be announced on February 8.
